Freddie King – Have You Ever Loved A Woman (Live in 1974)

“Have You Ever Loved A Woman” was written by Billy Myles, and popularized by blues guitar legend Freddie King. In fact, Eric Clapton loved King’s version so much, he later covered it on the Derek and the Dominos record.

This is from the Live in Europe DVD. Freddie King and band kick out a 12 minute version of “Have You Ever Loved A Woman”. King is amazing to watch play. The physicality of his playing imparts so much emotion to his sound. He has finger picks on this thumb and one of his fingers. He’s fascinating to watch. An incredible player. The band plays around him. It’s beautiful.
