Marvin Gaye – What’s Going On / What’s Happening Brother (Live in 1972)

You just can’t go wrong with a good version of “What’s Going On” by Marvin Gaye. So I’m posting a great live version from 1972 at the Chicago Amphitheatre. This performance comes from the 1973 documentary “Save The Children”, which captured the concerts that occurred there as part of the Operation PUSH Black Expo. The theme for the expo was “Save The Children.”

Gaye played his song of the same name, plus “What’s Going On” and “What’s Happening Brother”. This was about a year after the What’s Going On album was released. Something else to note – James Jamerson on the bass! Enjoy.
