Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young – Don’t Be Denied (Live at Wembley Stadium in 1974)

Sometimes the universe drops a little piece of awesome in your lap when you least expect it. Take this video, for example. “Don’t Be Denied” is one of my all time favorite Neil Young songs. The only album it’s been formally released on, though, is Time Fades Away, which has never been released on CD, and my vinyl copy is warped as all get out.

Then there’s this. Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young at Wembley Stadium in 1974. Wembley is an amazing, if flawed, show that was professionally recorded – audio and video – that Neil refuses to let be released. He thinks they’re awful. They’re not, of course. There are some stellar moments, like this one. It starts out with just Neil and the rhythm section, then Stephen Stills comes out with kick ass licks, then Crosby and Nash on vocals.

Also, Neil has amazing sideburns. If I could, I’d totally grow some like that.
