Furthur & Elvis Costello – Ship Of Fools/Must Have Been The Roses/Ship Of Fools (Live in 2011)

Hot damn! This is good stuff. Really wanted to go to some of the Radio City Music Hall shows, but couldn’t make the calendar work. And then I miss this! Elvis Costello came out for a few songs on March 27, the last show of a three night run. Larry Campbell sits in on a few songs, too. He plays fiddle on this one, though he plays guitar in others.

Once again, some resourceful fans pulled together a few audience clips for those of us not lucky enough to be there. Below is one of them. Elvis makes “Ship Of Fools” soar, and John Kladecik’s solos in “Must Have Been The Roses” are sublime. Just great to see and hear them on stage together. I’ll be seeing Elvis Costello and The Imposters at Royal Oak Music Theater next week. It would be brilliant if they played “Ship Of Fools” or “Tennessee Jed”. A man can hope, can’t he?
